Day 99: Burney Double Zero

7.23.18. 0 miles.

Wow, I slept a lot last night. Probably the longest night of sleep I’ve had on this whole trip.

I probably went to sleep around 9:30 pm last night and didn’t wake up until 8:00ish this morning. Almost 12 hours of sleep! I definitely needed it. And I did feel a little better this morning.

First, I went to Rite Aid, intending to fill the prescription I got from the hospital for anti-nausea meds, but again (I meant to bring the rx to Safeway yesterday too), I forgot the prescription. I’m not feeling nauseous anymore, so I guess I’m just not going to fill it bc I don’t want to walk over there again! I picked up some pedialyte at the recommendation of one of my Instagram followers who is also a nurse, since it is way more hydrating than water & sports drinks, some behind-the-counter mucinex since my congestion & sinuses are also terrible, a gallon of water, applesauce, some milk, and 2 cereal cups.

After that escapade, I went back to my room and didn’t leave for the rest of the day. I feel like I’m finally taking a real zero day where I basically don’t do anything, and just lay on the bed and watch tv. By 4 pm, I still hadn’t had a bowel movement, and yesterday I decided two things needed to happen before hitting the trail. 1. No more lightheaded-ness upon standing, and 2. No runny stool for 24 hours, and need a real stool. Neither have been met yet, so I decided to call the front desk and stay another night. My room is booked, so I need to change rooms tomorrow morning, but that’s fine, and I’m hoping that resting for the rest of today and again all day tomorrow will make me feel close to 100% healthy. Once 8 pm rolled around, it was Bachelorette time! I admit, I was a little excited to watch it live. I pretty much fell asleep right after the show ended.
